During a John Paul II Healing Retreat, Elizabeth was given a beautiful consolation during prayer.  Following the experience, she painted what she saw.  The result is the incredible painting titled “Are You Ready?”

Elizabeth shares her experience and consolation:

“I found myself entirely in the dark, with Jesus approaching me holding my baptism candle.  Only the light of my baptism illuminated our presence. Jesus asked me, “Are you ready?”  I replied “yes.”  Then, Jesus blew out my baptismal candle and left me in the terrifying dark.  I cried out for Him not to leave me.  Presently, we were standing over a toilet, the toilet where I flushed my unborn child following my chemical abortion.  Jesus dropped my baptismal candle, my salvation, into the toilet and flushed it away.  As my heart broke, Jesus took me to heaven where His mother was waiting, my son bouncing on her knee.  She welcomed me, and assured me she was caring for my son.  Jesus then relit my candle, held it out to my son who laughed for joy.  As the candle was re-lit, an intense heat fell upon my head and flooded my body, radiating off of me and toward the two who prayed with me.  The consolation gave me deep inner strength to continue speaking out against the horror of abortion.”
